Split Pea Soup

For those of you who know me, you better sit down. My friend Apryl convinced me to try split pea soup today. Can you even believe it? I wasn't wearing loafers, so I had to taste it. Much to my surprise, I didn't die AND it was actually quite yummy.

This tie in (Split pea soup and loafers) leads me to the George and Martha books by James Marshall. Have you heard of them? They are picture books and they are simply delicious! I was introduced to them in college while babysitting (Briggs) and then my roommate Martha confirmed how splendid they were. I think you will enjoy them with or without kids. They are that delectable. Enjoy! (And have an extra laugh on the split pea soup story for me.)

  1. This is fantastic. When I got my first pair of loafers at age 11 (1981, yeesh!)my first thought was, "how much split pea soup will they hold?"

  2. PB King- that is awesome! I believe I had loafers in 1981 too and I agree, was it really that long ago? LOL Goodess how time really can fly. I am glad you too have a love for George and Martha. One of my favorite stories is when George loses a tooth, his favorite tooth. (He has 2! ha) And it is replaced with a gold one. Such simple stories, but pure genius! Have a great day and thanks for the comment!
